Via petition for writ of certiorari, obtained appellate court reversal of trial court sealings of court files in 2016, in collaboration with multiple media organizations and their lawyers.

 
 

 
 

Harold Kennedy v. Times Publishing Company
Lead counsel for defendants in defamation case arising from news stories. Obtained JNOV of $10 million jury verdict for plaintiff (2010). Per curiam affirmed by Florida Second District Court of Appeal, U.S. Supreme Court denied review (2011).

 
 

Timothy Joe Adams v. Tampa Bay Newspapers, Inc. (Beach Beacon), et al.
Sole counsel for news media defendants in defamation case arising out of news story. Obtained summary judgment for defendants August 11, 2008 (appeal filed but voluntarily dismissed December 18, 2008).

Sole counsel in trial court and on appeal. Obtained appellate affirmance of trial court's dismissal with prejudice of first amended complaint asserting news media defendants committed tortious interference with business relationships by engaging in and publishing investigative journalism.

Lead counsel for magazine publisher and author in defamation case; obtained summary judgment  for defendants affirmed per curiam by Florida First District Court of Appeal.

Granting within 48 hours a certiorari petition filed the same day a criminal court judge barred the public and news media from courtroom during testimony of two witnesses on petition for writ of coram nobis.
